Leviathan ‎– Verräter [From the Vaults]

Leviathan has only appeared on this blog once before.

Here we have another of the project's somewhat peripheral offerings.

Verräter (Tumult, 2002) is a double CD of early demo material (which Profound Lore has also recently reissued on vinyl).

It is worth taking a moment to appreciate the artwork by Zdzisław Beksiński. Absolutely glorious.

The music here is also pretty glorious. Raw, atmospheric depressive black metal at its finest.

Even if you aren't normally a fan of Leviathan, you should give this compilation a try.

...and if you're new to Leviathan, there is arguably no better place to start.
