Mortiferum - Disgorged From Psychotic Depths [REVIEW]

Mortiferum is a three-year-old American death-doom band, and this is their debut full-length.

It follows a solid self-released demo (Altar Of Decay) and drops tomorrow courtesy of Profound Lore.

Well-produced, and not inaccessible; it is also crushing, dissonant, and filthy.

The lead guitar work is particularly enjoyable, but no element falls short.

Lots of old school leanings, and Finnish death metal influence aplenty.

This one is likely to make a lot of end-of-year lists, for good reason.

Disgorged From Psychotic Depths stands very tall in the crowd.

You can stream the opening track below, and order it here.

*edit* The split with Hyperdontia is also worth checking.
